Maroantsetra is a market town on the bay of Antongil on the east coast of Madagascar. Most easily accessible only by boat, it is near the mouth of the Antenambelana River. Nearby are the island of Mangabe (Nosy Mangabe, the"big blue island") and Masaola National Park, both spectacular nature reserves.
